The British Museum’s commission to Small Back Room for its four new retail spaces was simple: ‘Provide the best design to fit the museum’. Sometimes the most basic briefs can create the most exciting creative challenges.

We designed the Great Court Shop, the Grenville Room, the Bookshop and the Collections shop to fit seamlessly into The British Museum’s striking interior – creating welcoming places where visitors would want to spend time and which could offer a wide range of products.
